Admission Arrangements
Admissions into Year 12 for Entry 2023
The stages of applying for Sixth Form are:
Stage 1: Attendance at Open evening
Attendance at Open Evening on Thursday 10th November 2023.
Stage 2 - Subject Sampling Application
Subject Sampling Evening is a required stage in our application process for Sixth Form. Following our Open Evening in November, all students wishing to apply for Sixth Form must apply to be part of this event which takes place on Thursday 9th February 2023.
Students, you should choose between 5 and 7 subjects that you are considering taking in Sixth Form to trial at this event, including those you may be taking at GCSE, to fully appreciate the step-up in work that is required to achieve your intended A level grades.
Please note this IS NOT your formal application to Sixth Form - this comes later.
Stage 3 - Attendance at Subject Sampling Evening
During the evening each student experiences a 'sample' 25 minute lesson in each of their chosen 7 subjects. This will help inform their 4 subject choices for A Level. Our last Subject Sampling Evening was attended by over 500 students and the evening went extremely well, with feedback from those attended being very positive. We hope it will help all students who attend to make their final decisions about which 4 subjects to choose to study in Year 12.
Attendance at this event forms an essential part of the Admissions Process.
Stage 4 - Completion of the Admission Form
To ensure that you apply for the right subjects, please check our GCSE entry requirements for each subject which can be found here.
To apply for your Sixth Form place you must have completed the Year 12 Admission Form for entry in September 2023 before 4pm on Friday 10th March 2023. Applications received after this date will be classed as 'late'.
Additional Tasks: Applicants for Computer Science, Photography and Drama & Theatre - all have a prerequisite task that must be completed also by 4pm on Friday 10th March 2023. Please click here for details of the tasks.
