French

The French courses used reflect the world pupils live, using contexts familiar to them in their everyday needs and teaches them the vocabulary they need to communicate with young people on topics that interest them.

The French course in Key Stage Three builds the foundations for GCSE study. There is a focus on language learning skills and strategies needed to become independent language learners.

Key Stage 3 French

Year 7 – Topic content

Key Stage 4 French

The French course is examined through terminal exams in listening, speaking, reading and writing at the end of Y11. We follow the AQA course for GCSE 9-1.

  • Topic 3 – School subjects, school day and opinions / Attitudes towards school / School rules and changes to make
  • Topic 4 – Free time & eating out (re-visited from year 9 course)
