Philosophy, Religion and Ethics
Welcome to the PRE department at Alcester Grammar School, where we take immense pride in teaching one of the earliest academic subjects, designed to foster reasoning, empathy, and both logical and critical thinking. These skills are increasingly vital in our growing world of technology, and we are dedicated to nurturing them in our students.
We offer a rich and diverse learning journey that includes both examined and non-examined elements across all key stages. Our curriculum is designed to explore a wide range of topics through various worldviews and lenses, including historical, philosophical, social sciences, and theological perspectives.
At the core of our department's philosophy is the belief that education should not only develop important academic skills but also prepare students to become curious, open-minded, and collaborative global citizens. Through our comprehensive program, we aim to equip students with the tools they need to succeed academically while encouraging them to engage deeply with the world around them.
